Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh,

Eid will be on Friday, June 15, 2018.
Below are some reminders. We ask Allah to accept from all of us. Ameen.

Your brother,
Dr. Abdurahman Hejazi
PGMA Director of Religious Affairs

Eid Prayer: We plan to pray Eid on Friday at the Show Place Arena(14900 Pennsylvania Ave, Upper Marlboro, MD 20772). This is to make sure we will follow the Sunnah in praying all together at the same time, same place, and same congregation. Takbeerat will start at 8:00am, and Eid prayer will start at 9:00am sharpin shaa Allah. Please make sure to: 1) carpool, 2) bring your mat, and 3) be there by 8:30am at the latest as it gets very crowded at the entrance.

Zakat Al-Fitr: Once again, Zakat Al-Fitr is an obligation on every Muslim (old/young, male/female) who has enough food to cover his/her Eid day/night and more, please be aware that it must be given to the needy before you pray Eid. PGMA is helping the community by sending the cost to Islamic Relief who will be purchasing the qualified food and distributing that to the proper recipients all over the world. The amount is $10 per person. In order to ensure delivery, please make sure you pay this by no later than Thursday, June 14, 2018.

Friday Prayer: It was narrated in many authentic Hadiths that when Eid and Friday came together in the time of prophet Mohammed peace be upon him, he said to the people: “Two Eids have come together on this day of yours, so whoever wishes, the Eid prayer will suffice for Jumu’ah, but we will pray Jumu’ah”. That is, It is permissible, although not recommended, for those who attend Eid prayer to pray Zuhr prayer instead of Jumu’ah. Please note that this issue is subject to a difference in opinion between our scholars and we respect all. PGMA will continue to offer the two Friday prayers (at 12:00pm and at 1:15pm) in shaa Allah.

Join us at Prince George’s Muslim Association on Friday, June 8th for a Family Night with Sh. Okasha Kameny!!

1:15PM – Friday Khutbah & Prayer
8:31PM – Iftar
8:41PM – Maghrib Prayer
9:00PM – Dinner
10:15PM – Isha prayer & Taraweeh
4:28AM – (Saturday) Fajr Prayer & Lecture

My Dear Muslim Community,

Assalamu Alaikum wa Rahmatu Allah wa Barakatuh,

Alhamdu Lellah, there has been some last minute confirmations of moon sightings in California, and other places which makes Ramadan starts on Wednesday (May 16, 2018).

AMJA has announced that on their Facebook account (https://www.facebook.com/AMJAonline/), sent a letter, and I confirmed that by calling one of the AMJA members directly.

Please spread the news, and plan to fast this Wednesday. Also, try your best to pray some Taraweekh/Qiyam by yourself or with the family tonight even if it were for two Rak’ahs.

May Allah enable us to sincerely fast Ramadan and pray its nights and accept from all of us. Ameen.

Sheikh Abdurahman Hejazi

Br Hakim Leveille was a valued member of our community. A wonderful father, husband, teacher, brother, and a co-worker.
He left a hole in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him.
He is a big loss for our community.
This campain is to support Br Hakim’s family, pay off his debt if any and help his wife and daughters.
Funds collected will be inshaa Allah entrusted to Imam Karim Abu Zaid to distribute accordingly.
